A half-mile east of the Honolulu Museum of Art and a mile north of Ala Moana Beach in a commercial/residential neighborhood, this budget lodging is set in 3 low-rise buildings a block from several bus routes.

Simple rooms, ranging from singles to 2-bed options, are set in apartments with shared bathrooms and basic kitchens; some apartments are female-only. Cable TV and summer-only air conditioning are available (fee), but towels are not provided. A private studio with an en suite bath has a minifridge and microwave.

Amenities include free WiFi and barbecue grills. Laundry and parking are available (surcharge). A security deposit is required.

Renting Policy

You are renting a room or studio (depending upon your purchase selection), at 1101, 1107, or 1111 Piikoi St., Honolulu, HI.  

By renting at The Plumeria, you agree to comply with the policies below:

A. Deposit is payable in advance, and one term’s rent will be due upon your arrival.  Rents are due in advance.  If you made an advance reservation and the dates or other particulars have not been kept, a reasonable assessment may be made against your deposit.

B. Damages / Losses. You are responsible for rent arrearages, and for any damages, losses, and/or missing items, at an amount deemed fair and just by the Plumeria staff.

C. Quiet Hours START at 10 pm; visiting hours END at 11 pm--no noise at a level that disturbs others is permitted at any time, and you must be responsible for all of your visitors (TWO maximum at any time, and they must also observe the House Rules posted in the laundry area, and may not visit the premises when you are not here).

Special arrangements must be made with management for any exceptions to this rule. In case of emergency, you must notify our manager, staff, or the appropriate authorities such as the police, fire dept., etc.  If anyone is being inconsiderate or unsafe, and will not respond to reasonable requests for compliance to said House Rules, please also notify our management.

D. Polite, considerate behavior is a MUST! This is shared housing, and adjustments must be made to accommodate other guests and the housemates here. There are live-in staff, long-term residents, and multiple guests at any given time.  

Since this is a shared housing situation, we ask that your actions keep this place peaceful, functional, and harmonious.  Concerning food, please clearly label and use only your own food or items clearly marked or indicated as free or for common use.  Do not eat others’ food.  

Also, we ask for your considerate actions in our common spaces:
• Clean up after yourself immediately when finished in the kitchen, community areas, and bathroom. If lack of cleanliness (dirty dishes, bathroom messes, etc.) is a problem in our opinion, we may make an additional cleaning charge, or assess your security deposit. STAFF WILL NOT WASH DIRTY DISHES!
​• Please do NOT monopolize the bathroom and be judicious with electricity and water usage.• Cooperate with others in general.  Keep the front door locked unless you are in the kitchen area.• We have the most expensive electricity and water in the nation—please conserve! Turn off utilities or air conditioners when leaving the area of use.  
• The Plumeria is a NO-SMOKING establishment—PLEASE step outside and use the smoking areas (with ash cans) for any smoking.

E. This should go without saying, but here goes anyway: Illegal or obnoxious behavior will not be tolerated, AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON,

The Plumeria staff may refund your current day's rent (and any future rent you may have advanced plus applicable deposit) and require you to leave. The Plumeria reserves the right to refuse to rent to anyone, at our reasonable discretion.We are a small business and not heavily staffed so we must make service charges for extra services.

We will charge a $5.00 to $10.00 service fee (depending on the frequency or hours of service required) for guests who repeatedly lock themselves out, or make repeated requests or changes, and/or pay less than one week at a time.

Your occupancy dates will be those you have reserved online or via email, and are written below.

Any change in plans to shorten or extend must be made to us in person or by email, 24-hours in advance, to be considered for a refund, subject to the following: --Reservation cancellation fee of $12.50 will be charged before 2 weeks of reservation date. After that, less than 2 weeks notice a charge of $37.50 will be assessed. --For cancellations of less than 24 hours, or for “no-shows”, the first night's payment isn’t refundable, and all refunds are subject to the above 15% administrative assessment, so please be certain about your plans prior to reserving.  If you prefer not to use credit (or Paypal), payment will be accepted in the office in cash (exact amount only) during posted office hours, or by money order.

KEEP YOUR PURCHASE RECEIPT FOR MONEY ORDER).  There are no pets permitted at The Plumeria without written permission of Management.  If you are absent from the quarters for one rental term or more without prior arrangements, the quarters will be deemed abandoned and you will be subject to termination. Please note that we have the right to enter and to show the quarters during the last week of your occupancy.

Cancellation Policy:If you cancel 14 days or more before your reservation date you will receive a 95% refund. If you cancel less than 14 days before your reservation you will receive an 85% refund.  If you simply don’t show up, we have to charge you one night’s rent in addition.

Short Term Rooms:Age 18 and over only, and we serve notice that we allow alcohol on site (so anyone under 21 must agree to observe Hawaii’s alcohol consumption laws). Quiet hours begin at 10 pm - please make sure your noise has been reduced to minimum.  Visiting hours end at 11 PM; please make sure that your visitors have departed by then!
